Hi and thanks for visiting this SLIME review site.

Richard with a bottle of SLIME in Africa

It may seem brash to label myself as a SLIME expert and provide all this independent analysis and review – but there is no doubt that my experience with SLIME is worth sharing.  It can help people just understand the product more – how it works, what product is best for what purpose and why perhaps it isn’t the the best solution.

I live in New Zealand but spent 6 years living in East Africa where the harsh conditions pushed the limits of SLIME.  We used it many types of items that contained air – from bike tires to footballs and baby buggy tires to our 4wd tubeless tires.

As the Master Distributor for SLIME in East Africa for 4 years, I learned a lot about SLIME.  We used SLIME in ways it is never used in western countries, pushing its limits as ‘necessity is said to be the mother of learning’.  We installed it in 4wd’s and truck’s that still had tube tires.  We concentrated a lot of business on pre-installation and learned about how to make this work best and about dealing with vibration in high speed vehicles.

I fell in love with the SLIME product first in Australia!

SLIME fixes thorn punctures

Just pull the thorn our and keep moving!

I was in Tamworth, Australia with my wife and then 1 year old daughter and on a 20 minute run punctured 2 of our 3 buggy (stroller) tires with nasty thorns.  In frustration I visited the local bicycle shop to ask what the kids did so they could still ride their bikes – he handed me a bottle of SLIME for tube tires and convinced me to buy it.  I was extremely skeptical – but what other option did I have.

I purchased the SLIME, installed it in the tires, pumped the tires and ran!  No more flat tires.  I was amazed and sold on the product.  We would run along and simply pull the thorns from the tire and keep running – all the time the SLIME sealing the holes as it turned.  In Africa – many even thought it was magic!

My second experience that convinced me to import it into East Africa was my mother was on Safari and received 3 flat tires in a day in her Landcruiser.  Her and her visitors were stuck and it was getting late.  She phoned for help.  I mentioned that I had this SLIME stuff – I had never used it on a car before – and I only had tube product and the Landcruiser had tubeless tires.  I drove an hour to the National Park and installed the SLIME and then pumped it using a bike pump – that’s all we had!  My mother then drove all the way back to her house (an hour) and the next five days – no problem – before getting the tire properly repaired.

I was sold on the product!

So – yes I love SLIME.  I am very biased because it works.

However – I am also straight up and know its limitations and what works best in various situations.  What you read here is how I see it.

I  no longer have any affiliation or relationship with SLIME as I am no longer in Africa.  This leaves me free to simply review and offer independent advice.

By the way – I live in New Zealand with my wife and 4 kids.
